I showed my deaf grandfather some of your videos, it was his first exposure to deaf people or sign language on social media, and I'm so thankful for you!

Translation is contextual! No matter if it's English to FL or FL to English. If a Japanese speaker asks: "How do I say はい in English," your answers could be numerous!

Why I was so annoyed when a terp student asked for an English equivalent and said “DONT FKING TELL ME IT DEPENDS ON CONTEXT!” like babe… but it does…

I think it'd be useful for ESL classes too. I've never heard it phrased this way, but I love it.

Once when my deaf sister’s kid was in the hospital, the nurse came in and said he was going to check her gas, meaning check her oxygen levels. The interpreter signed “check her farts” lol

I can’t remember which language it is but there’s a language with multiple words for love like platonic love, romantic love, love for humanity etc.

when someone asks me how to sign X, I ask them what part of speech they want. most folks are confused by this and they walk away.

if you wanna say congratulations in Hebrew you say mazal tov, which means good luck. but if you want to say good luck, you say beatzlacha, which means basically have success. translation is super cool!

My grandma (she’s been an interpreter for 44 years) explains this to me all the time. One time we were FaceTiming so I can practice ASL and she was saying “the context” and I was like “wtf does meat

Do you add the captioning to your videos, or is there something reliable that does it for you? I want to make my videos more inclusive! 💜
