You are totally right that Lebanese culture has colorist and racist issues, however as a Lebanese I think what you experienced was actually Islamophobia more than racism/colorism (ofc they are entertwined). most of the places you feature in the video are touristy or "upper class" areas which are primarily Christian. Unfortunately Lebanon is quite segregated and a lot of the dominant socioeconomic group is Christian, which tend to associate themselves with France /colonial institutions and also often don't even consider themselves Arab. Many of these people (not all Christians but primarily esp in the areas in your vid) have Islamophobic and racist beliefs about Muslims, and your south Asian heritage = Muslim to them. I would bet that the experience of an African American, non Muslim presenting tourist for example, may have a better experience than you even if they are of a darker complexion

I’m sorry about your experience, I experienced similar when I tried to speak Iraqi Arabic there but when I spoke English with a proper British accent they treated me much differently. They love to worship their colonisers unfortunately, I don’t get it.
