@ditto.daily: A study published this month found microplastics in a high number of ovarian follicular fluid samples. Microplastics under 10 micrometres in size have been detected in various human tissues and fluids, including blood, lungs, placenta, breast milk, urine, semen, and now ovarian follicular fluid. Animal studies show they can travel through the body, potentially impacting fertility, immune function, and neurological health. Microplastics have been found to cause oxidative stress and damage in mouse granulosa cells, which surround developing eggs. While no direct link to fertility outcomes was found, their presence in reproductive tissues urges further research into how they might affect egg quality and long-term fertility. Yeah so human fertility has been declining for a while now no? Surely environmental toxicity is one factor

I've heard that we've seen all the microplastics in everything but I haven't seen if there are any harmful things happening because of it, should we be worried?
