Of all of the lip balms I’ve tested as part of my best lip series, this Neutrogena lip balm one is the most boring. But I say that as a compliment! It’s not trying to be too fancy with over the top fragrances or unusual formulas. It just does the job. So much so-and don’t judge me for this-I’ve started using it underneath my eyes for my fine lines… A few people have said lip balms aren’t meant for hydration (which I semi-agree with). They really are more designed to lock hydration in and that’s kind of what I’m trying to do with this test. Most of my starting readings are normal or hydrated deliberately so by the time I check it after an hour, I’m actually looking to see how little moisture has escaped. But all of them so far have added hydration 🤷‍♀️ ***Methodology*** Given that lip balms/lip oils are for locking moisture in rather than hydrating, per se, and they create a barrier that would probably interfere with the little tester I’ve decided to do it this way: Measure the hydration Apply the lip balm Wait an hour to give the lip balm time to work Test how well hydrated my lips are at the end. I tried them all after five minutes and the readings were all over the place so I don’t think the original test format is going to work, hence this approach. Like with my other tests, it’s very far from perfect and the reader doesn’t have a setting for lips (it does have face, hand and eye) so take it with a pinch of salt please. Just a bit of fun 😅 #Mamabella #lipbalms #Bestlipbalm #Softlips #Neutrogena #Neutrogenalipbalm #drylips #chappedlips #boring
