@barakallahufeek: In Madhya Pradesh, India, many women, especially from rural and tribal communities, rely on collecting coal and cotton from trucks as a means of livelihood. Coal Collection from Trucks: In coal-rich areas like Singrauli, Shahdol, and Umaria, women are often seen gathering coal that falls from overloaded trucks transporting it from mines to power plants and factories. omme even risk climbing onto slow-moving trucks to grab pieces of coal, which they later sell in local markets or use as fuel. This work is dangerous and physically demanding, exposing them to accidents, legal trouble, and health hazards from coal dust and pollution. Cotton Collection from Trucks: In cotton-producing regions like Khargone, Khandwa, and Burhanpur, women collect loose cotton that spills from trucks transporting it to ginning mills or markets. This cotton is often resold to traders or used for personal purposes, providing a small but essential source of income. The work is seasonal, with peak activity during the cotton harvest months, and wages are typically low. Despite the risks and hardships, these women continue this work out of necessity, supporting their families in the absence of stable employment opportunities.
