@orenjikunart: 🔸 Here’s a simple quick tip to help you pick your colours! When picking a shadow colour in a natural lighting scenario, always go more saturated! ✨✨ 🔸 This is a common relationship seen in the relationship between light and shadow and can help make your lighting look more natural and compelling. This relationship holds true for most natural daylight scenarios. 🌤️ 🔸 Although this is a good rule of thumb, you also have to account for varying materiality as strongly reflectivity or sub-surface scattering may cause the relationship to be reversed. 🤔 🔸The simple rule above all else at the end of the day is to be observant, analytical, and apply your learnings, as this tip in itself was made through practice and obsevation. If this helped, share wtih a friend who might benefit from this tip, and follow for more weekly art tips! 💛✨✨ #paintingtips #arttips #howtodraw #photoshoptutorial #photoshoptips #coloranalysis #backgroundpainting #visdev #howtopaint #arttok

how to pick colours that work together? (colour scheme?) cause things feel separated n flat when I colour.

this is something I was puzzling over lately. I'm fine with unnatural and funky lighting, but sunlight always escapes me. Thank you! ❤️

I'll try to use that next time I color.
Solid things become more saturated, and things with sub surface scattering becomes less saturated.
