This time I built the base around the air return and added a removal vent in the front so I can easily remove if needed for access or cleanjng Cabinet Spacing: I didn’t put spacers between the cabinets the first time. And this created a problem with the doors opening and closing properly. This time around, I used one by twos to get the perfect spacing. Peeling Paint: Ever tried to paint an IKEA or similar cabinet? If you don’t use the right primer, your paint will peel. Use BIN Shellac primer. It works perfectly Prep: Speaking of paint. If you want a flawless paint surface. You must prep the surface. I was lazy with the sanding. But not this time around. I also learned how to prep the room to use my new paint sprayer inside. I’ve used one outside before. This was scary, but I am so glad I did it. The finish is flawless Every misstep taught me how to improve my DIY pantry makeover.
