@dailymail: Authorities are continuing to investigate the mysterious death of legendary actor Gene Hackman, his wife and one of their three beloved dogs. The couple were last seen in March before cops were called to the home by maintenance workers. Pills were found scattered next to Betsy’s body, which was in the bathroom, while Hackman was found next to his walking stick and sunglasses. Both had been dead for some time. Hackman's daughter Elizabeth said that she suspected the couple may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but police have not found any signs of a gas leak. Given the growing amount of theories about what happened to the couple, it may be some time before the authorities settle on a cause of death - if indeed they are ever able to do so.
