Sorry but I would think a blown head gasket before I would think timing on that engine..I’ve seen them ran so hot and it warp the valves and it sound the same way..That is not a proper way to diagnose

Honestly iv never seen timing chain fail on those it’s usually lifter problems bc of the junk dod on them

easy fix. pull the heads. New valves and push rods and lifters. pistons are probably ok. fixed 3 last year
