@ssam.ttaylor: 5 RUNNING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS: As a girl that just started running again about a year ago and ran her first marathon these are my tips and tricks. Make sure you’re following me because this will be a series….!🙌🏼👀🏃🏻♀️ 1. No music -I’ve noticed that when I listen to music, I’m trying too hard to distract myself from the fact that I’m running so if I switch it over to a podcast, my mind becomes more clear. 2. Designated run days - creating a routine for yourself will allow you not to skip, especially if it’s one of those things that you don’t really like or are not great at if you have it in your routine you won’t skip it. (ex: say every Wednesday is going to be the day you run) 3. Workout classes - go to some workout classes that have running incorporated and if you live in Austin Texas, these are my two favorite classes to go to @barrys or @studiothree 4. Weight training - it is so important to make sure you are lifting weights alongside running. Not only to prevent injury, but also to make you strong stronger and faster on the road. 5. Use running apps!! This will help you stay consistent and keep track of your goals: @strava - track your runs and connect with friends @runna - personalized running programs @nikerunning - running programs I hope these five tips were helpful.
