father time here,been in this trade 47 years with a city and guilds distinction,started off on the bench for apprenticeship then the rest on site.heard all this bs talk many times,you have to be very fast and good to get top money,I earned more on price work where you could bank on your own ability than day rate,my bank account has got the mumps now lol,so I am ticking over on 100 a day now in the hand with no stress and still turning down many offers,still hanging fire doors up 3 flights of stairs on my own.

shuttering joiners, if any good, 250 plus a day , just remember, you only start learning once yir time is out, and not 2 years

Hardest part going out on your own is finding the work. Best advice I have is work for a builder during the week and work weekends for cash.
