Most welders use hoods as a matter of fact I've never seen a welder not use a hood might be alright for the fire watch though.

weld burns hurt just saying i weld 50 hrs a week. and any part of skin exposed will burn. it's way different from a sun burn. and hurts alot more.

theres a reason we wear hoods we dont like to burn our faces without a hood ur guaranteed to get a welder burn been there top of eyes and ur hole face gets burned worse then a sunburn not worth it
