@teachsleeprepeatpodcast: Why are so many teachers leaving the profession? Clip taken from ep 98 of our teacher podcast "Teach Sleep Repeat" on how we've massively over-complicated teaching! #EduTok #teachers #teacherlife #podcast #teachersoftiktok #education #school
we are leaving because..1. too much abuse from parents and kids 2. workload 3. unnecessary tasks that have no impact on pupils 4. lack of respect and autonomy 5. pressure from Ofsted 6. not enough time to do the job 6. rise in behaviour issues 7. rise in SEN need and no additional funding or support

I became a teacher to inspire youngster about science not to parent, babysit or be physically or verbally abused with no support from management when parent who don’t parent throw it in our face.

Lack of respect, a toxic inflexible curriculum and reduced attention span/independence make teaching an uphill struggle daily.

The kids just DGAF and it's partly due to Covid. I've never known parents side with their angels so much as of late. There is zero accountability.

All the best reasons have already been said. Additionally, the work-life balance and lack of transparency is crippling. Also a mention has to go to leadership. It’s just not a good place to be atm.

Workload, harassment, parents, pressure, blaming, no accountability, no support, time trapped, SLT failing to do their roles - parts of the reason 😔

Twist To Open :
Weak SLT need to take some responsibility for this. They interpret what "O" want and that filters down to staff. They add and add and never stop the rubbish...adds up
