@traveltomtom: Anyone knows the real name of this fruit? 🤷🏽‍♂️ It looks like a banana but in reality it is a maracuya or passion fruit in English. It is a very exotic fruit and one of the most surprising ones I found on the local market in Colombia. The inside is just like a passion fruit but then more tangy and less sweet. I prefer a real passion fruit over this passionfriit banana! When I Googled about this type of exotic fruit I found the following: Passiflora tarminiana (or banana passionfruit) is a species of passionfruit. The yellow fruits are edible and their resemblance to small, straight bananas has given it the name banana passionfruit in some countries. It is native to the uplands of tropical South America and is now cultivated in many countries. A fruit that looks like a banana but has a similar inside to a maracuya is called a banana passionfruit or locally known as curuba. It belongs to the passionfruit family and has a yellow pulp with black seeds, resembling a banana in shape but with the tart, juicy flavor of a passionfruit. In Hawaii they called it also Banana Poka! 😁 #fruit #colombia
