My midwives told me they didn’t need to weigh me unless there was concerns to do so.

I gained almost 65lbs. My doctor didn’t mention my weight one single time. Your doctor was out of line

Girl you are literally pregnant eat whatever you want and how much you need and what that doctor said was so out of line. Motherhood may be hard but there will be always someone that will support you

put a complaint in against that doctor, that's a horrific thing to say to a pregnant person. the only time they should be concerned about your "weight" is when they start measuring your bump to see -

In the UK they don’t weigh you after your booking appointment, as weight gain during pregnancy if different for everyone

Former OB nurse who worked in a hospital and office setting. Some people in this field get very jaded and forget what it’s like to be pregnant..

Get a new doctor, that was an incredibly unprofessional and insensitive way of saying that. Weight gain is normal in pregnancy. If she was looking out for you, she’d have considered your feelings when

Honestly it seems like doctors in the US look for problems so they make more money. You are clearly not overweight.

Get you a new OB, one that makes you comfortable! 🫶🏼 also I failed two, one hour glucose, & passed both 3 hours sometimes the fasting is what helps! 🫶🏼 & if you DO have GD, that’s placenta related

I’d assume it’s to avoid gestational diabetes later on in your pregnancy? How else is a health care professional suppose to inform you?

100% weight gain is normal but a big jump in weight is a sign of preeclampsia that’s why they worry

I had an OB say something about my weight in my 1st pregnancy... I requested a different one.. That one said I actually lost weight before even gaining any in my 2nd trimester. 🥰

do not be afraid to switch providers. I switched at 32 weeks because he wouldn't even let me talk in appointments. I found an amazing provider after him.
