I think I read somewhere that they were supposed to release GPT-5, BUT the results were not what they expected so they decided to call it 4.5 and still release it.

Why cant the model verify its facts against the original training data to verify whether its hallucinating. I mean as a form of google search over the petabytes of training data as a reasoning step.

If the goal is to achieve an AGI, it must have emotional and logical intelligence. If you take GPT 4.5 and add reasoning to it, you probably get what may be a step forward in that direction.
