Replying to @Channax Intermittent fasting fans often get really angry at me. Because I talk about some of the downsides of intermittent fasting. But why? Just like all diets, there are pros and cons of intermittent fasting. This shouldn’t be controversial to say. Example pros: some people find it is better for appetite management when regular calorie restricted diets didn’t work as well. This can help promote weight loss and improved health markers. Great. BUT, there are also some possible cons. Some people do not find it is better for their appetite at all. When the “feeding window” opens, they eat more food than they would normally. This mitigates any weight loss and at least some of the health benefits of fasting plans. And in extreme cases, fasting can be terrible for your relationship with food. Many people report trying fasting diets and then feeling like they had worse binge eating, for example. It shouldn’t take a genius to admit that this is very suboptimal, right? Please understand, I am NOT trying to take a big steaming dump on any particular diet. I just want you to be aware of the pros and cons of everything so you can make the best choices for yourself. And I think it would be great if other people took that approach as well, rather than ONLY selling you on the benefits, right? P.S., at the end of each post, I post a reminder that if you enjoy my content and would like to support me, you can preorder my new book ‘Fat Loss Habits’, a practical and actionable fat loss book which releases in January. It is currently on sale with a 17% extra discount on Amazon U.K. and a 10% extra discount on Amazon U.S, available via the Iink on my page. #fasting #intermittentfasting #fastingforhealth #intermittentdiet #caloriedeficit #health
