@terrencebakes: Levain Bakery Cookies - Coffee Toffee — this is my submission to get a Levain in Atlanta, but in the meantime I’m happy with making homemade bakery style cookies at home until I visit New York again. I love coffee and toffee as a combination (Cold Stone’s Coffee Lovers Only, anyone) so I was super excited to try these out! The cookies get their super dark flavor from black cocoa powder, which has a really deep chocolate flavor— similar to an Oreo. I then used milk chocolate and heath toffee bars. @Levain Bakery come to slant Atlanta please! 😩 INGREDIENTS— 1 cup (226 g) cold butter, cut into small cubes 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar 2/3 cup (133 g) granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1/2 cup (40 g) dark cocoa powder 1 cup (125 g) cake flour + 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour) 3/4 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp salt 1 to 2 tsp espresso powder 5 Heath Toffee Bars 1 cup (170 g) milk chocolate I’ve always loved cookies like this because they’re big, sweet, and have a ton of mixins throughout!
