Snoring makes me ANGRY even if I’m not trying to sleep.

The wind. I have an irrational dislike for the wind when it’s windy

The more of your content I see, the more I am making sense to me.

I wasn’t autistic because clothing tags didn’t bother me - I just cut them all out. 😳🤣

The heat!!!!! Oh my god I can’t stand the heat. Perfume gives me headaches. I HATE sudden loud noises (can’t stand when balloons are being inflated - stresses me out) and sometimes conversation (cont)

I didn’t know the term sound layering before and it’s one I needed. I LOVE loud music and concerts but hate pep rallies or loud restaurants. The layering of the sound explains it completely.

I hate the feel of moisturiser or sun cream on my skin. I’ve recently discovered I love having super soft blankets and pillows around me

The sensory stuff has plagued me my whole life. My parents are VERY aware, but no one was diagnosing high masking girls in the 70s and 80s

You know when you’re hanging out at home and you’re not feeling great physically and emotionally then the fridge stops humming and everything instantly starts to feel better and you realise what was causing it… I often don’t know something is overloading me until it stops and I’m like ‘ah! That’s what it was!’… sensory delight is that every drink has an optimum drinking temperature so when it’s perfect temp it hits so good

My toes trapped in toe jail (socks). I can wear socks, but I need to not THINK about wearing them to get through it. As soon as I think about it it’s over.

On the flip side, does nothing bother neurotypicals??? And if you have some sensititivies, what identifies you as NOT neurospicey??

I was floored when I realized that the fact that I seek out sour in food constantly was a potential autism thing. 😳

I didn’t notice how sensory seeking I was. I love spicy and strongly flavoured food, compared to my brother who is the typical “picky eater” for example.

When I was a little kid I used to think I could secretly be a princess because of the fairytale The Princess and the Pea. I cannot stand even the tiniest piece of anything in the bed. A single crumb. One little bit of sand.

Sensory ick- particles on the bed or floor. If my bed or floor is not smooth and without sand or crumbs or any foreign particle at any time, it feels like I’m lying/walking on glass and I HATE it

Hearing someone chew is a big one for me. Also smells, loud noises/repetitive , too many noises at once, sweating, certain consistencies

I hate hate hate layered voices. it's so frustrating 'cause I try to listen to everything & end up getting sense of nothing. I prefer silence or very narrow catalog of sounds while doing hard stuff.

Sensory stuff was one of my first clues. I must cut tags out of clothing. Sock seams have to be positioned just right or they drive me batty. Hate polyester on sweaty skin.

Hate loud or high sound, especially if they are sudden. That very much include children screaming/crying. I visited my friend that has 4 children, I had a great time but it took me a week to recover

When someone tries to talk with me while the tv is on. Certain tones. When the volume is up just a smidge too high but then reducing it even a little makes it so that I can’t hear a darn thing. BBQ.

I'm starting to wonder if many introverts like myself just are undiagnosed autistics who need recovery from social interactions. Thoughts?

Can you explain between a neurotypical “dislike” of something and Ndivergent. How do you tell the difference? People must have preferences of likes/dislikes of sounds, foods, etc. no?

I realized I have sensory issues 3 years ago and it was a life changer. They actually got worse since I'm aware of them but because I'm aware of them I can act and accommodate my own needs

I didn't think I had sensory problems until I stopped drinking alcohol but still went to gigs/loud social events and still woke up the next day with the feeling of a hangover (fatigue, nausea etc)
