also a drill press doesn't typically have the bearings for side loads. also a drill chuck should never be used for milling as it will open up under side load...

As long as you're not expecting to mill anything. It's overkill if you're just using it to reposition a piece for drilling.

we use similar tables (4) for adjustment of the vice in my machine shop..I drilled and tapped for locking screw w/brass button for the ways..but I also have 27 CNC's and 6 programmers..yes we also have a Bridgeport..I use the X Y table for assembly, not machining..
