@thenikmorris: I’m so thankful to have had my horsemanship shaped by racehorses, fresh OTTBs, mares, and foals because it taught me the value of allowing respectful opinions. Your horse should feel free to react to the world around them in a respectful manner without being punished… all that does is create a frustrated and confused horse with anxiety that manifests in either being shut down or behavioral issues. Also, the lead was sliding up and down his neck due to him lifting and lowering his head. This video was from last March, so many things have changed since then😊 #ottb #ottbsoftiktok #equinebehavior #horsemanship #horsetok #adultammy #horsebreeder
horses that lift the back leg to strike you should be corrected they can cave in a cranium

With tb youngsters they were allowed to squeal & buck on the way to turnout. They were NOT allowed to drag or tighten the lead rope or kick or strike handlers. Expected to stand until released...

If horses can like something they can also dislike something. Each is an individual and respecting their communication opens up so many more opportunities

THANK YOU! That video and everyone saying hitting them is how they learn pmo so bad. It’s the laziest version of “horsemanship” I’ve ever seen

My mare loves being scrubbed. Like she’ll almost lay down when scrubbing her belly. That could be interpreted as something bad and she’d be punished…

I mean, one hates her legs scrubbed. she will wait till I'm done and out of the way then paw and side eye then Huff and sigh. It's ok, that's acceptable.
