Why don't you tell people that filter will not remove bacteria, pathogens, viruses...? Boil water and collect the steam would be the best way.

The poor mans way is to fill a clear jug and lay it in the sun for an hour. The UV will kill the bacteria. Or 15 drops of chlorine bleach. Or 15 drops of iodine. Filter through a Tee shirt
