@nabesan_nihongo: 📢Japanese Phrases for Business Phone Calls☎️📞 💡Working in Japan? Business phone calls can be tricky, but these phrases will help! (Making a Call) 💡 If calling someone for the first time, say:
Totsuzen no odenwa shitsurei itashimasu
(Sorry for calling you unexpectedly.) (When the Person is Unavailable) 🗣️ Receptionist: 「申し訳ありませんが、○○はただいま席を外しております。」
(Sorry, ○○ is away from their desk at the moment.) Yoredewa aratamete odenwa itashimasu
(Then, I will call again later.) 💡 If you want to leave a message, say:
Denton wo onegaidekimasuka?
(Could you take a message for me?) (Explaining the Purpose of the Call) ✅ 「少々お時間をいただいてもよろしいでしょうか?」 Shoushou ojikan wo itadaitemo yoroshiideshouka?
(May I take a moment of your time?) 💡 Be polite! Japanese business calls are formal.
(Let me check that for you. Please hold.) 💡 Use polite language like "少々" instead of "ちょっと" for a professional tone. Matananika gozaimashitara okigaruni gorenrakukudasai
(Please feel free to contact us if you need anything.) Yoredewa shitsurei itashimasu.
(I’ll be hanging up now.) 💡 "失礼いたします" is the polite way to end a business call. 🎤 Have you ever taken a business call in Japanese? Comment below!👇✨
