There is a huge reason!! That baby boy is growing momma. Dont let it stress you. I quadrupled the amount of insulin in my pregnancy

It’s that placenta mama!! I had GD x3 insulin dependent and I’d wake up with a fasting BG of 300 😳

The amount of insulin you take in pregnancy is a crazy mind game. I would ramp up my basal 100% and give massive boluses that you can even fathom when not pregnant

By 30 plus weeks even eating a salad with nothing on it makes your sugar sky rocket. Takes about two weeks for sugars to go back somewhat normal after delivery.

I’m sure your videos are also helping those that get GD. You’re a diabetes veteran and it still seem uncontrollable some days!

I was taking 5x my normal insulin during my pregnancy. When baby came out of me it was instantly back to normal. It was crazy 😷

So I was taking a gigantic amount of my long acting insulin (60 units) and after I had my son I have dropped down to half that. (29-30 units depends on the doctor). It takes a WHILE for your blood sugars to go back to normal. Trust me. We are 9 months PP and still struggle

Towards the end of pregnancy you'll need more insulin unfortunately. But it's all worth it in the end when you'll get to hold her ❤️

I had to take crazy amounts of insulin while pregnant. I was at 108 units oh long acting at bedtime because my fasting would never get low enough
