If you just used wood you wouldnt have to do all those steps...just cut, sand and paint.... you cost urself more 3x the work for something that will last maybe 2 yrs?

little trick I learned, put painters tape on your surface before you use the nail gun. Then fill your hole. Pull the tape off and that's it. No removing excess.

Tip for you…put a piece of painters tape where you’re going to brad nail & just nail through the tape. Then fill the hole & stain while the tape is still there, then pull the tape and bam, no mess
