Problem is if the admin ppl of Jnited dont support and mirror what changes are needed on the players level, it won’t matter. Good recruitment is the biggest thing. Get players who will improve

The path forward is to actually give the manager time and players fit to his system. It HAS to be more than 2 seasons for it to click. This current squad outside of a handful of players don’t fit his system, that’s why it’s going so bad. Offload the dead weight and get his guys but by the time he does and has any rough patch, they will let him go. It’s the same never ending cycle and you have to hope it changes at some point.
