Pet insurance is wayyy more affordable that vet care out of pocket. If you can’t afford either vet care or pet insurance don’t get a pet. It’s irresponsible.

yeah, no. I've been in the field over 20 years. I can't even afford my pets. 5-10 years ago I could. I'm sorry but ONE bill being over 5-7k even with a discount? absolutely not. we got pets we could afford and can't now.

Yes! Also, WE as in the staff, don’t make the prices! 🗣️We just work there. I even try to ask the vet to maybe waive an exam fee or dig in the box with donated meds. We do care.#Tiredvettech

I wish ppl knew that WE can’t even afford our own pets. We KNOW it’s expensive but we stay up to date with preventative visits and have pet insurance

1000% I am a pet groomer and when people are like “their cut is more than my hair” okay… well you need to add nails, Brazilian, getting your ear cleaned as well.

TBH when I worked in vet med as a tech for 7 years... The ONLY reason I was able to cater to emergency situations was because I was given a discount and able to make payments via paycheck.

running a vet clinic is astronomically expensive. like all the equipment, medicine, supplies, labor, insurance, utilities...and all that HAS TO BE PAID UPFRONT by the clinic
