Caring for My Golden and White Terrapins: Daily Adventures and Challenges 🐢✨ Taking care of exotic pets like golden and white terrapins is both a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience. Recently, I've been feeling the strain as my beloved golden terrapin has been unwell, sparking a wave of concern among friends and followers. A few days ago, my golden terrapin developed a large pimple on his back, and surprisingly, many people suggested that I squeeze it out. However, I consulted with our wise old terrapin before making any decisions, ensuring that we handle his health with the utmost care. After soaking him in medicated water for two days, our old terrapin also managed to get through his own health scare, showing remarkable resilience. Now, both terrapins have successfully returned to their tank, but true to their nature, they've buried themselves again, leaving only one head visible. Spending this much time with them has revealed some fascinating behaviors: the golden terrapin tends to be quite naive and easily startled, often scaring himself for no apparent reason. On the other hand, our white terrapin, despite being blind, remains incredibly stable and calm. Daily routines involve watching the golden terrapin dig holes incessantly or wander around looking for new spots to bury himself. It's endearing yet puzzling how he prefers to lounge on the white terrapin's face, showing a special fondness for his companion. These interactions highlight the unique personalities of each terrapin and the strong bond they share. To keep their environment stimulating, I recently redecorated their tank, adding new decorations to give them a fresh change of scenery. This not only improves their mood but also makes their habitat more engaging for them. Watching them adapt to these changes has been both entertaining and heartwarming. One memorable moment was when I was feeding the white terrapin. The golden terrapin, attracted by the scent, tried to snatch a bite but ended up getting confused when the white terrapin started biting wildly, mistaking it for food arrival.
