I went to Sapporo in Japan with the family and brought 5 cameras to see which I would enjoy using the most. To see sample footages of the cameras, go to my YouTube channel and look for the Sapporo vlogs. Now, for my experience with each camera: iPhone 16 Pro This is the camera that I used the most because it was the most convenient to pull out and shoot right away. I used the Final Cut Camera App where I shot in LOG in the H.265 codec. This allows me to color grade my footage without having to deal with huge ProRes files. DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro My 2nd most used camera. The Action 5 Pro was also easy to whip out of the pocket, attach it to the selfie stick magnetically, and it boots up so fast. And since it was snowing heavily, the Action 5 Pro being weather proof makes you not worry about the camera getting wet. The ultra wide field of view makes this a great camera for vlogging as well. Sony ZV-E1 When it comes to image quality, this camera had the best for this trip. If it weren’t for the heavy snow fall, I would have used this camera more. For those traveling with kids and a lot of things though, this might not be the most convenient camera to bring even though it is already on the smaller side when it comes to mirrorless cameras. Insta360 X4. The Insta360 X4 is a specialty camera in my opinion. For me, I wouldn’t bring this as my only camera especially since the file sizes of this 8k camera are huge. But this camera is a nice to have in certain situations like skiing, sledding, surfing, biking as it gives a certain perspective other cameras could not. DJI Pocket 3 The Pocket 3 is one of my favorite cameras to use in content creation. That’s why I was surprised that I did not use it more during this trip. I found myself grabbing the Pocket 3 in some situations where I wanted to quickly capture a moment, but it took a longer time for me to get it up and running compared to the Action 5 Pro. I had to take it out of the case, turn it on, and wait for the camera to set. Because of this, I found myself reaching for the Action 5 Pro instead. Plus, it being not water proof made me not use it during heavy snow fall.
