It’s week 4 of my series scratch vs store where I make popular store-bought snacks at home and see if it’s actually worth it. This week’s snack is super yummy and honestly, really really easy to make I can’t believe I haven’t done it earlier but we’re making GRANOLA BARS! These are quick and easy- all you need is: -butter (6 tbs)  -dark brown sugar (1/3 c) -honey (1/4 c + 2 Tbs) -vanilla (1 1/2 tsp) -quick cooking/ instant oats (2 c) -Rice Krispie cereal (1 3/4 c) -sliced almonds (1/2 c)  -flax meal (1/4 c) -mini chocolate chips  -sprinkles 1. Melt the butter, brown sugar, and honey over medium high heat until boiling, then turn the heat to low and mix until your sugar dissolves (1-2 minutes). 2.  Take it off the heat and add vanilla, oats, cereal, almonds, and flax meal. 3. Mix well and then pour over a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.  4. Use a spoon or spatula to spread it out and make sure you pat it flat.  5. Sprinkle on chocolate chips and sprinkles and press down to set the chips in.  6. Refridgerate for 2 hours  7. Move the bars to a baking sheet and slice into bars 8. Store in the fridge I’d rate this a 8/ 10 -Ingredients: 8/10 These are definitely not ingredients you commonly have on hand and they can be kind of pricey to acquire at first but most of them are shelf stable and can be used for multiple batches!  -Ease of recipe: 9/10 The bars themselves are SO easy to make and took maybe 10 minutes to assemble which has been a great change of pace but my bars were definitely fragile and could easily fall apart so I’m not sure if that was a me error or a recipe flaw). -Taste: 9/10 I’m personally giving them a 10, and so is my husband but one of my kids said they were just ok so I had to dock a point for that- but they’re SO good, I was insanely surprised.  Overall- These are definitely something I’ll be tinkering with and making over and over because they were really good and I do feel like they’re more cost effective than our favorite bars (the made good ones- which we LOVEEEEEEE over here).  #madefromscratch #recipesoftiktok #granola #granolabar #snacksforkids #EasyRecipe #scratchvsstore
