aot is a terrible starter anime. if they like it, it gets their expectations set higher if they want to explore anything else. deathnote and parasyte are great though

The recommendation should depend on the person. I’ve recommended Psycho Pass (if they like Blade Runner, the matrix) Kaiji (if they like Squid Game), Ippo (if they like martial art/fighting), Vinland.
