This cake is calling your name 🤤 Servings: 12-14 Time: 3 hours with cooling Cake ingredients: - 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour (325g) - 1 1/4 cup sugar (275g) - 2 1/4 tsp baking powder  - 1/4 tsp soda - 2/3 tsp salt - 2 eggs - 2/3 cup vegetable oil (120g) - 3/4 cup buttermilk (3/4 cup milk plus 1.5 tsp vinegar) (180g) - 2 tsp instant coffee - 1/4 cup boiling water (60g) - 2 tbsp cocoa powder  Dalgona buttercream - 1 to 1.5 tbsp instant coffee (start with 1, taste and adjust) - 1 cup icing sugar (125g) - 1.5 tbsp hot water - 1 cup butter (227g), room temp  - 1.5 cups icing sugar (250g) Method: - Prebeat oven to 350F and prepare 2 9” pans with parchment and butter - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt - Add in the eggs, oil and buttermilk and whisk until just combined - Lastly, mix the instant coffee with hot water and pour into the batter. Mix until combined  - Pour 1/3 of the batter into another bowl. Sift in the cocoa powder and fold  - Pour original batter into the two pans equally, then spoon on the batter with cocoa powder. Use a toothpick to lightly swirl and create a marbled effect. You can weigh the pans to ensure even distribution of batter - Bake for 25-28 min until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs . Let the cakes cool  - Whisk the coffee, sugar and water in a bowl at medium high speed until they form a really light colored, thick mixture and sugar is fully dissolved (dalgona) - In a separate bowl, whisk butter and 1.5 cups icing sugar until light and airy. Add the dalgona and continue to whisk until a smooth buttercream is formed. Taste and adjust as needed - Once cakes have cooled, trim off the domes tops and divide into two layers each. Assemble on a cake stand by layering the cakes with the buttercream.
