@karlaakat: Dulce de Leche Tres Leches Cake recipe ⬇️ Ingredients: Cake: •1 box vanilla cake mix •3 eggs (or as called for on the box) •½ cup oil (or as called for on the box) Buttercake frosting: •1 stick butter (softened) •1 can sweetenedcondensed milk Tres Leches Mixture: •1 can Dulce de Leche • regular milk •1 can evaporated milk Optional (for filling): •Fresh strawberries (sliced) Instructions: 1.Prepare the cake batter according to the box instructions (mine needed 3 eggs and ½ cup oil). 2.Divide the batter into 2 cake pans and bake according to the box. While the cakes bake, make the buttercream frosting: 3. In a bowl, whip together 1 stick of softened butter and 1 can of condensed milk until smooth and creamy. 4. Place frosting in the fridge to cool and thicken slightly. Prepare the tres leches mixture: 5. In a blender combine 1 can Dulce de Leche, equal parts milk, and 1 can evaporated milk. Blend until smooth. Assemble the cake: 6. Once cakes are baked and cooled, poke holes all over both cakes. 7. Slowly pour half of the tres leches mixture over the first cake and let it soak in. 8. Spread a layer of the frosting on top of the first cake and add sliced strawberries if using. 9. Place the second cake on top and poke holes in it as well. 10. Pour the remaining tres leches mixture over the top layer and let it soak in. 11. Frost the entire cake with the rest of the frosting. 12. Optional: Decorate with extra strawberries or a drizzle of Dulce de Leche on top. (No I couldn’t wait for mine to cool 😭) #beginnerbaker #tresleches
