@whoknowsthepassword: #megumifushiguro | The burden of being born cursed Thinking about how Megumi really did hold the world in his hands; he was the one who decided Yuji deserved to live (and therefore Sukuna), he was the only one capable of killing Gojo - the pinnacle of jujutsu, who’s existent changed the way of the universe and Jujutsu society as a whole - and of course the fact that he was the one who would be able to activate The Merger. He had so many burdens to bear and so much weight to carry and all people seem to focus on is the fact that he never met his full potential. Megumi, who has experienced trauma after trauma, unsurprisingly finally reacted to his trauma and people started hating him for it. Megumi who never considered himself a good person, or worth saving, or worthy of a peaceful, normal life. Megumi who watched the only person he ever cared about - who he gave up a normal life for - be cursed then killed with his own hands. Megumi who watched everyone get stronger and develop their techniques, wondering why he wasn’t able to do the same. He constantly compared himself to people; Tsumiki for her kindness, Yuuji for his ability to communicate with people and progressively get stronger quicker than he has despite only know about Jujutsu a few months ago, and Gojo, who has reached his full potential and had a legacy to leave behind. And for some reason they all bothered to care about him and he can’t understand why. Which is why he creates excuses for the care they throw at him; he rationalises to himself that Tsumiki only cares about him because of who she is as a person, and that Gojo only cares about him because that means he has another student capable of being as strong as him one day. It’s not until Yuuji gives him a CHOICE - the first choice he’s ever had - to live or die that he realises someone cares. It’s not until Yuji tells him “It’ll be lonely with you, Fushiguro” that he realises someone cares about him not because of who they are as a person or for his technique, but because of who HE is as a person.
