Speaking before Congress, Trump reiterated that Greenland is vital to U.S. interests and extended an open invitation to its people: “We strongly support your right to determine your own future. And if you choose, we welcome you into the United States of America.” However, he made his intentions clear, stating, “We need Greenland for national security and even international security.
