WHY DO BOILED EGGS BLOW UP WHEN THEY ARE MICROWAVED?? ⬆️Follow @conwaycooks4u for more⬆️ It’s essentially a combination of steam and pressure. When you boil an egg, it heats up very quickly which at first causes it steam. This steam doesn’t leave the egg very quickly. If there’s too much pressure in the egg, it will explode. Eggs have a thin membrane which seals all the liquid inside so it’s very vulnerable to blowing up. When you cook an egg, tiny pockets of water form when the proteins inside the yolks clump together. When eating an egg normally that’s cool, nothing happens. But when it’s reheated in a microwave, these tiny pockets of water boils very very quickly until the pressure becomes too much leading to an explosion. I hope you all learned something.
