He left school at 16 to become an apprentice on Mayfair's Savile Row - before attending Central Saint Martins to further his technical skill and artistry. His time at University is arguably the place where he discovered the ability to connect his designs to references which led to his theme of his graduate collection ‘Jack the Ripper stalks his victims’. This start in the fashion industry expanded into a fruitful career at both his namesake house as well as his stint at Givenchy, which while criticised at the time by members of the French fashion industry, is now hailed as some of the most influential collections of all time.
