IDO who needs to hear this but you can live rent free in exchange of taking care for someone else’s dog or pets. Every house owner had diferent requests but mostly you just need to take the dogs for a walk and feed them, some would ask to water and take care of their garden and plants too. That’s it, and you get to live at their house for their holiday’s period of time for free! It’s the best way to explore and get to know a place from a local perspective. You live in a local neighberhood (rather than at a hotel in a touristic area probably), and by walking the dogs you’re gonna meet other locals who are dog owners. You can ask for suggestions of what to do around, get advice about the hidden gems of the place and tips for example where to buy the cheapest food or how to use the public transport.
