Today, for a little while, I got to pretend I wasn’t a shelter dog 🙏 I got to feel the sun, the breeze, the car ride… my nose out the window, taking in every smell like I’ve been waiting my whole life for that moment. Maybe I have 🥺 I’m Francine and I’m about 4 years old ❤️ I came to the Humane Society of Broward County from another shelter. I don’t really know what that means… I just know I’ve been waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more. But today? Today I got to be me. The fun, silly girl with the awesome ears who LOVES toys (all of them… seriously, I’m not picky 😄). Sometimes I get a little too excited and forget your hand isn’t a toy—but don’t worry, I’m learning! Just hand me one of my toys and I’ll happily trade. I promise I’m trying my best. I’m great in the car, I walk with you (okay… sometimes I get a little strong, but I listen when you remind me 💕), and I take treats SO gently. They say that means I’m really smart and super trainable. We even went to a toy store… and I met a little dog there. I was so sweet and gentle with him—just happy to say hi and make a new friend. I really do love everyone I meet. But more than anything… I just want to be close to you. After playing, after exploring, after all the excitement… my favorite thing is to lay next to you and just be. To feel safe. To feel chosen. I think the hardest part isn’t the kennel… it’s not knowing why no one has picked me yet? 😔 Because I know I could love someone so, so much. Maybe I just haven’t met you yet.
