Saying a "shotgun" approach in reference to school children is so out of touch. I mean... we know they're out to lunch, but seriously.

They have no idea how vouchers even work. 🙃 Just like tariffs.

didn't Iowa's voucher program do just that? private schools raised their rates and still only those who could already afford it could go

also it helps the farmers too! Leave the free lunches and meals on wheels alone.

I've never once met a rich kindergartener, and I've met hundreds and hundreds of kindergarteners. Rich does not equal responsible or good parenting.

Maybe republicans would support free school lunches if we somehow privatized it so billionaires could profit? 🤔

A coupon that will ultimately get deducted from public schools funds.

Im in a voucher state, and the money grabbing capitalists that are lining up with their hands out to get the homeschool market vouchers is jaw dropping.

Why can’t we just feed people?

My least favorite defense of vouchers is “Well, their parents shouldn’t have to pay taxes to the public schools if their kids don’t go there.” as if no other adults are paying taxes that go to public schools when they don’t have kids going there. Some never have kids, some don’t have school-aged kids yet, and some have adult children who already graduated. Most of our tax paying years are outside the time we may have kids in K-12 schooling but we still benefit as a society from public schools being available to all children.

Right?!? And If taxes were fairly proportional to income, then the “rich kid’s” family has still paid for their child’s meal 🤷🏻♀️

What about their lunch? Don’t they get a stipend for lunch? Rich adults should pay for their own lunch (and healthcare).
