I think the real thing about him is Michael Clark Duncan was just awesome in general and most people would likely be happy seeing him play anything. he could play Harry Potter and it would be cool.

The underrated Daredevil movie, Kingpin was good, even if it didn't feel like canon. Ben Affleck played well, and his costume looked very canonical and cool, maybe that's why it's a little funny to some.

There are a lot of people talking about skin color in the comments, but guys, does it matter if the character turned out to be cool in the end? Fisk in the 2003 film is luxurious and chic, and comparing it with Vincent's adaptation is silly, because there is a huge time difference between them, Vincent's Kingpin is more down-to-earth and realistic. They're both good at this role.
