@sophthickfitness: A total of 12 days in Madrid for my Lipoedema Removal Surgery on my arms, being looked after by the amazing @Lipemedical Team - Lipedema !! Most of us never want to have to consider getting surgery on our bodies, but lipoedema (or lipedema) is a genetic and chronic illness where abnormal fat cells grow and cannot be burned away with diet and exercise. It’s either passed on from the mother or the females on the fathers side. It causes “tree trunk legs”, mobility issues, tenderness, heaviness, easy bruising, fatigue (the list goes on and on). There are ways to manage the condition, but surgery is the only way to remove the diseased cells from your body. This condition can affect up to 10% of women and because there’s little awareness about it, most women don’t know they have it and live a life of struggle and sometimes pain.
