yeah, I think with the teapot someone tried to store a devil fruit in it to maybe hide it, and scraped the edge, thus taking a bite of the fruit

An interesting lore bit about the teapot-tanuki, in mythology a tanuki can change form into inanimate objects & one of which is a teapot. They are also called raccoon dogs...kinda like Chopper is.

That we only see objects with zoans could mean those fruits come with some kind of consciousness. That would also explain why awakened zoans lose their owners personality and become animalistic 1/2
