@instructor_bensei: For those that have been curious, Mike has been doing great! He's officially a Blue belt now at our school, and has been actively preparing for an upcoming local tournament! The cold weather has him sitting a bit more, but he's actually been better than ever! For those unaware, Mike had a stroke about 15 years ago now, and, after a lot of hard work and dedication with physical therapy, decided that martial arts was his next big success, with the "final" goal being reaching his blackbelt. Recently, Mike has been able to start moving his left hip, which is kinda wild considering that side should be paralyzed😱 His next big milestone is to stand up off the floor on his own without use of cane or chair, and he gets closer every day! #mikesjourney #thrivingnotsurviving #strokesurvivor #benseiarmy #martialarts #kungfu
