I would max roth ira first cause it’s only $7000 a year and your returns are taxfree. when you switch jobs, you can roll the 401k into an IRA too!

You might want to consider setting up a Roth IRA. You pay tax up front, but tax free on all earnings in retirement! Max is 7k/yr right now
