So this is a large tradition across the majority of slavic countries. I'm czech and we call this "pálení čarodejnic", which translates to burning of the witches. We ususally build a wooden pyramid 1/2

We do something similar in the north of Italy, where I'm from it's called "La giubiana", it's an old witch also made of wood that we burn to welcome the spring ☺️☺️
