Replying to @John Netflix 3 Things that Shocked Me Moving to Singapore from the USA – Part 2: 1)	Nature & Wildlife: At first look, you think that Singapore is just a metropolitan island full of skyscrapers and high-rises, but I quickly learned that this wasn’t true. Singapore is actually full of green space & parks. The Park Connector is an awesome way to exercise and become more familiar with this city. In addition to the nature, Singapore is also teeming with wildlife. During the covid period I spent a lot of time exploring the parks and forests searching for creatures. It was my first time seeing animals such as the Mousedeer, Colugo, Slow Loris, Sambar deer, and even Glow in the dark Scorpions. 2)	Car Prices: When I left the US to move to Singapore, I sold my secondhand car to a friend for $1000 USD. When I arrived in SG I was shocked to learn how much a new car costs and the process that it takes to get a car. The COE is like a market and it fluctuates based on demand and quota. Right now the prices are over 100k SGD for certain categories of cars. Luckily the public transportation system in Singapore is super clean, reliable, and convenient. 3)	The Architecture: In my hometown in the northeast US, the buildings and architecture range from historic Gothic style buildings to Art Deco & Postmodern architecture of the 70s and 80s. Coming to Singapore for the first time was like walking into a futuristic city from a movie. Of course Singapore has its mix of colonial shophouses and historic buildings but also has some of the most modern and high tech structures out of all the cities in the world. I was truly speechless seeing buildings like MBS, Gardens By the Bay, and The Pinnacle at Duxton for the first time. There are so many other things that surprised me about Singapore, I feel like this needs to be at least a 5 part series. What should be on the list? For anyone who moved to Singapore from overseas what was the most shocking thing that you experienced? #singaporetiktok #singapore
