Nobody tells you the 1st few pees after surgery are unpleasant, but it will get better. disposable underwear until the bleeding dies down and then invest in some underwear that is higher waisted.

get a waste strap for after. every sneeze and cough (which you will do) will hurt and the pressure from the straps helps tremendously

That i’d spend the first 12 hours after my c-section severely sick, unable to keep my eyes open and wasn’t able to see or hold baby for 12 hours because I was so freaking dizzy.

Start walking as soon as you're able to! The faster you can get moving and the more you do, the faster your recovery! Good luck 🫶🏻

The gas/shoulder pain was AWFUL. Only pain I had made me wanna cry at times. As well as how itchy I was and wanted to scratch my skin off 🥲🥲🥲

Take a pillow for the car ride and hold it across your lap before putting on seat belt on the drive home and within the first week or 2, just comfort.

Honestly c section recovery was the easiest part!!!! Just knowing that you will feel a lot of pressure during the surgery but no pain.

Adult diapers for afterwards, easier than dealing with changing pads. Squatty potty & stool softeners & a pillow to hold against belly for the first few bathroom visits. Walk as soon as you can but

Every body is different and reacts differently so don’t get scared with all the diff comments! I had a c-section and honestly I think it was more peaceful and calm than a natural birth…

after 7 days you should feel really, really good again! stay on top of pain meds still but you won’t be as sore. prepare your husband to have to take care of you in those first 7 days too!! you won’t

Wear the abdominal binder! I brought my own to the hospital but the one they gave me was great helped with the pain more than anything

Hopefully this will make you feel a little better about the procedure itself: while it is difficult and def not the “easy way out”the thought of having a c-section is worse than the actual thing!🩷🩷

Give yourself grace and accept that you’re going to need help! Set up a postpartum bedside cart with everything you need so it’s within reach- snacks, extra waters, BF/pumping gear, meds

To stay on top of my pain meds even if I didn’t have pain I thought I was brave but then it felt like my stitches were coming apart and that feeling is normal 😩

Take the pain meds and don’t fall behind. Walk, just do it. Get a lap pillow for the hospital and for the car ride home. Eat/take fiber. Ask the nurses for help.
