What I continue to learn every every day as a Mama: ✨When we listen to kids… ✨When we engage kids in conversation without an agenda… ✨When we do not assume we know more… …Children will consistently surprise us with a perspective we’ve lost sight of over the years. It’s there within us, but the insight from children help us find it —a clearing of the windshield, in a sense, that helps us rediscover our path. Some of my best conversations with Emi happen when we’re slowly making our way down the mountain, giant snowplow and all. With my son Elliot, it’s on a trail, hiking together. With Theo, it’s when I’m carrying him in my arms or on my back when we’re outside. For each child, it is different, and each one offers such a beautiful way of seeing the world and helping me reflect on myself. I love being there, sharing in the insight.
