Yes you can on Sundays during Lent. The church views Sunday as a day of celebration in remembrance of the Resurrection.

So for example if someone gives up chocolate for Lent, they would abstain from it for 40 days, from Ash Wednesday to Holy Thursday, not including Sundays. So Mom & Grandma are 💯 right!!!

Agree 40 days Sunday doesn’t count. Also we say Sunday can be a token day. So so what you give up for lunch you can substitute and use a token on Wednesday and then give it up and not you Sunday. 😂😂
